The young professional forums offer young employees a unique chance to meet and to explore relevant themes through visits to current projects. These visits are organised to encourage interchange of knowledge among young professionals and build relationships across Europe. Recently, young professionals from the member companies have met in Hamburg, Madrid and London to explore the Hafen City, Madrid by-pass and Madrid Rio urbanization project, and Olympic sites respectively.
Our trip to Hamburg was a great opportunity to meet, share and learn from colleages working in different countries and disciplines, This has enchanced my willingness to work overseas and I’m currently involved in a project in Paraguay
The young professionals forum enabled me to exchange knowledge and experience (and improve my credentials as an employee) via international networking. I aslo gained an insight into the structures, training programmes and programmes of different companies across the world
The theme meetings are for management level and focus on increasing the effectiveness of organisational processes and systems. Recent successful theme meetings include The Carbon Agenda, The Future of Sustainability, Efficiency in Engineering Processes and a Design Sprint on Big Data.
To work together on large, international projects is the best way to develop professional and personal skills in a multicultural context. Members of Europengineers work together on their projects, tenders, bilateral bids and learning progammes; sharing and developing expertise and expanding business. Recently, the Young Europengineers Team worked together succesfully in the project Bridges to Prosperity!
Creating Staff Opportunities
As part of Europengineers, members can offer employees the opportunity to expand their international experience through meetings, trainings and even internships or secondments with other member firms. These initiatives are mutually beneficial; they strenghten and widen employee’s skills and capabilities, but also help retain employees and give each firm insight into other practices.
